Intimate care brand Kushae was founded in 2018 by Kimba Williams and OB/GYN Barbara McLaren to create a chemical-free solutions to the feminine care issues they were all so familiar with. In 2021 Williams, who initially bootstrapped and funded the DTC company with $200K she won in pitch competitions, eventually decided it was time to fundraise and today the company announced a $1.25M oversubscribed seed round with participation from Fearless Fund, TiE Global Angels, TiE Access, TiE SoCal and Tech Coast Angels San Diego.

Kushae’s product line includes Natural Feminine Soothing Cream, Gentle 2-N-1 Foaming Wash, Kushae Natural Feminine Deodorant Spray and Kushae Protective Feminine Skin Balm as well as various product bundles. The company currently sells direct-to-consumer on its own website, on Amazon, in select Whole Foods locations. A new contract with Wegmans has just been signed. The fresh funds will be used to invest in marketing and further wholesale expansion.
