Bayer has announced the launch of its new healthy-aging ecosystem, Age Factor, a comprehensive platform that combines a scientifically formulated dietary supplement with a wellness companion app and a saliva-based biological age test, powered by Chronomics. This initiative marks Bayer’s first holistic offering from its new Precision Health business unit, aimed at helping consumers take control of their healthy-aging journey.
The Age Factor ecosystem is designed to provide support throughout the health journey, from awareness and education to engagement and action. It includes a One A Day Age Factor Cell Defense supplement, a wellness companion app, and a biological age test that helps track cellular aging through non-invasive saliva testing. Bayer’s goal is to go “beyond the pill” by integrating digital tools to empower consumers to make smarter, more personalized health decisions.
“Precision health is making self-care even more consumer-centric,” said Julio Triana, president of Bayer’s Consumer Health division. “Our aging journeys are unique to us all, and new digital tools are enabling offerings to be more tailor-made. With this multi-faceted approach, we are educating and enabling consumers to make informed decisions about their self-care in new and exciting ways.”
The One A Day Age Factor Cell Defense supplement is designed to support cellular health and resilience. As people age, cellular efficiency in managing stressors declines, and the supplement aims to address the gap between chronological and biological aging. Research shows that lifestyle factors such as diet, exercise, and stress contribute significantly to cellular aging, making targeted support essential.
“The healthy-aging space can be a confusing one for consumers with countless products making big promises,” said Abbie Lennox, Head of Regulatory, Medical, Safety, Quality, and Compliance for Bayer’s Consumer Health division. “That’s why we took a science-led approach that focuses on the holistic factors that impact cellular age by equipping consumers with a product containing a key ingredient that helps defend against oxidative stress, along with personalized recommendations and insights to best chart their own course.”
The Age Factor wellness companion app provides insights and lifestyle recommendations based on a person’s habits, helping track progress over time. The Chronomics biological age test offers a simple, non-invasive saliva test to measure biological age and track cellular aging over time. This ecosystem is designed to help consumers better understand how their lifestyle impacts their cellular health, providing personalized insights to guide their healthy-aging journey.
Bayer’s Precision Health business unit was established to develop more personalized consumer health products, driven by advancements in digital health technology. An analysis conducted for Bayer indicates that personalized health products could represent 10-20% of the consumer health market by 2030, potentially worth $20-40 billion.
