Dreem Health, the digital sleep clinic managed by the Sunrise Group, has announced a new women’s health program specifically designed to address sleep issues related to hormonal fluctuations. The program will focus on supporting women experiencing sleep disruptions due to pregnancy, PCOS, perimenopause, menopause, and PMS.

The initiative aims to provide a comprehensive approach to diagnosing and treating sleep disorders linked to hormone imbalances, a connection that has been scientifically established but often overlooked in healthcare. According to the press release, nearly 1 in 5 women in the U.S. suffer from diagnosed sleep apnea, with an estimated 80 percent of women with the condition remaining undiagnosed.

Research has shown that hormonal changes can significantly impact sleep health, with conditions like obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) doubling in women after menopause. The new program will utilize Sunrise’s at-home sleep test device to diagnose conditions, after which Dreem Health’s licensed providers will create personalized treatment plans or refer patients to partners for further care when needed.

“As a company that is set to innovate the global sleep health market by ensuring disorders are adequately recognized, diagnosed, and treated, it was important for us to take a step back and identify who will best benefit from our care,” said Laurent Martinot, Founder and CEO of Sunrise. “The relationship between a woman’s hormones and her sleeping patterns have long been overlooked, even though the research is there. Through this targeted offering, we are underscoring our commitment to advancing sleep health, and now women’s health, by bringing much needed attention to a women’s health journey which often begins with sleep.”

The company revealed that women currently make up 43 percent of Dreem Health’s patient population. By developing a program specifically tailored to this demographic, the Sunrise Group is addressing what they describe as a long-overlooked area of healthcare.

The launch follows Sunrise’s acquisition of Dreem Health’s management in 2024. Dreem Health’s digital clinic is currently accessible to patients in 35 U.S. states, with nationwide availability expected in the second half of 2025. Sunrise, founded in 2015, utilizes a small chin sensor that focuses on mandibular jaw movements for sleep analysis. The company has published clinical results for its home sleep test in peer-reviewed papers, with contributions from leading experts in the field.
