Uresta, a startup specializing in bladder leak solutions, has officially launched in the United States, backed by $3 million in funding, including $1.5 million from BDC Capital. The company aims to provide women with a non-invasive alternative to managing stress urinary incontinence (SUI).

Stress urinary incontinence affects one in three women, causing bladder leakage during physical activities like sneezing, laughing, coughing, and exercising. Despite the widespread nature of the condition, many women have traditionally relied on absorbent products or suffered in silence.

Clinical studies have shown that 97 percent of women saw a reduction of leaks when using Uresta, 90 percent of women continue to use Uresta after 12 months, and 94 percent would recommend Uresta to a friend, according to the company.

“Many women assume bladder leaks are just a normal part of aging or childbirth, but that’s simply not true,” said Caroline Packard, PT, DPT. “Uresta is a game-changer, providing an easy-to-use, clinically proven option that allows women to get back to the activities they love without fear of leaks.”

Lauren Barker, CEO and Co-founder, emphasized the company’s mission: “Bringing Uresta to the U.S. is about more than just launching a product – it’s about offering women a real solution for bladder leaks. For too long, bladder leaks have controlled the lives of women. Women have been told to tolerate it with absorbent products. Uresta is a simple, non-invasive solution that stops leaks and puts women back in control.”
