Progyny has expanded its maternal health support by adding doula services through a partnership with Pacify, a provider of maternity care solutions. The integration aims to provide comprehensive care throughout the pregnancy and postpartum journey.
Pacify, which unveiled its new doula-led maternal health platform in March 2025 following an acquisition of Major Care, brings a network of specialty-trained, certified doulas to Progyny’s existing maternal health offerings. The service will match individuals with doulas who best fit their care needs and demographic preferences.
Dr. Janet Choi, Chief Medical Officer at Progyny, commented: “Doulas are playing a powerful role in improving maternal health outcomes by serving as a resource for information, advocacy and support. Our commitment to the health of our diverse member base means giving them access to the full spectrum of care, support, and resources from preconception to postpartum.”
Research suggests that doula support may help reduce C-section rates and NICU complications, including low birth weight babies. The service will provide support across the entire pregnancy journey, including:
- Prenatal care
- Virtual and physical support during labor
- Emotional support
- Lactation assistance
- Postpartum care
- Miscarriage and loss support
Jennifer Sargent, CEO of Pacify, shared: “Both Pacify and Progyny share a commitment to offering families the comprehensive support they need throughout pregnancy, the birthing journey, and beyond. Doulas play a critical role providing evidence-based guidance and advocacy, and together with Progyny, we can provide high-quality care to more families during this transformative and often overwhelming stage of life.”
Progyny’s Pregnancy and Postpartum program now integrates proactive clinical coaching, education, and access to certified doulas and lactation specialists, aiming to provide personalized, high-touch care throughout the maternal health journey.
