Avid readers of our blog will have already noticed… Yes! We’re starting a video platform and are incredibly excited to introduce our first themed channel hosted by DigitalHealth.London‘s Jenny Thomas, who will sit down with experts from across the NHS and UK digital health ecosystem to explore the question “Can Femtech Help the NHS?”.
For those who don’t know, the National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the UK and Jenny Thomas has been instrumental in advancing the system’s digital agenda for many years. “Digital innovation is the central theme in my healthcare career despite being an industry often slow to change. I am truly passionate about advancing the digital health industry in the UK and frankly beyond.”
Jenny started her career as an NHS Graduate Management Trainee, and within a few years became the General Manager of Women’s Services at Guy’s and St.Thomas’ in London. Whilst in this role, Jenny learned a ton about women’s health and unusually for the NHS in 2014 teamed up with a start-up to redesign outpatient appointment management. During this time Jenny also earned her EMBA from London Business School and launched her own digital healthcare startup for first time mothers.
All her experience eventually led her to DigitalHealth.London, where she set up their award winning, London-based digital health accelerator program. Since its inception DigitalHealth.London has supported many of the UK’s best healthtech startups and scale-ups and has in return helped the NHS save millions while creating hundreds of jobs in healthtech.
Jenny is obsessed with democratizing healthcare and excited to be a leader working to bring about this change. Her interview series on Femtech Insider is yet another project of hers with the goal to connect innovators and the NHS. Her first three guests are Dr. Hiba Saleem, Associate Chief Clinical Officer, Obstetrics & Gynaecology Doctor, Peppy’s Co-founder & CEO Mridula Pore and Healthy.io’s UK MD Katherine Ward. More are to follow and we hope you’ll join us as we explore the question “Can Femtech Help the NHS?” together with Jenny.
