The World Egg and Sperm Bank (TWESB) has launched Give & Receive, a program that allows egg donors to freeze their own eggs at no cost while donating to intended parents – effectively bundling egg donation with free fertility preservation.
After completing an initial donation and clinical review, eligible donors can receive up to 12 eggs frozen for themselves during their next donation cycle, along with comprehensive fertility testing and genetic screening results. A third donation unlocks up to an additional 12 frozen eggs.
“We created the Give & Receive program with empowerment, choice and future planning in mind,” said CEO Diana Thomas. “By participating, young adults are helping create families today while preserving options for their own tomorrow.”
The model addresses two sides of the fertility equation at once: Supply for intended parents who need donor eggs, and access to egg freezing for younger women who might not otherwise be able to afford it. Egg freezing typically costs several thousand dollars per cycle before storage fees, putting it out of reach for many of the women who would benefit most from preserving their fertility early.
TWESB was founded in 2004 as the first independent egg bank and operates from its Scottsdale, Arizona facilities with more than 500 screened donors.
