Swedish women’s health platform EsterCare has acquired Ovulai, a digital health app focused on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) management. The acquisition integrates Ovulai’s PCOS-specific tools into EsterCare’s telemedicine and workplace health services. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Ovulai was founded by four female technologists who developed the first Swedish-language PCOS app in collaboration with healthcare experts and over 1,500 users. The Stockholm-based company addressed gaps in PCOS care, where patients often lack guidance on treatment and self-care after diagnosis.
The app provided evidence-based PCOS education, symptom tracking, and community features, with premium subscriptions offering personalized health programs. PCOS affects approximately one in five women, making it one of the most common causes of irregular menstruation.
EsterCare operates a comprehensive women’s health platform providing digital consultations for conditions including menopause, endometriosis, and PCOS through video appointments. The company serves both workplace health clients and individual consumers.
“Since our start, our mission has been to support women with PCOS through knowledge and guidance. Now this work continues at EsterCare through their health platform for workplaces, where you also get access to medical care,” Ovulai announced to users.
The acquisition allows EsterCare to strengthen its PCOS offerings while providing Ovulai users access to medical care alongside educational features. Users are being transitioned to EsterCare’s platform for continued support.
