So today – as the title of this blog post suggests – we’re talking about OMGYES, an educational platform focused on women’s pleasure. And yes. I know… I’m a bit late to the party, but better late than never! In this post I’d like to share some of my personal experiences using the platform, but will also try to answer some of the most common questions about the site and its content, and the research behind it. I signed up a couple of weeks ago and have been making my way through all the content. But as a start: What even is OMGYES, who’s behind the site and why does it even exists?
What Is OMGYES?
First the tl;dr: OMGYES is a platform that provides research-based information and tools to help women and people with vulvas explore their sexuality. And research-based is key here, because while scientists and researchers have uncovered the inner workings of almost everything in the world, the to date only large-scale sex research that has been funded has either been biological or behavioral. Only little, however, is still known about the actual techniques and insights that lead to more pleasure for women.
OMGYES started out by conducting the first-ever, large-scale peer-reviewed and published research to get some answers. Based on the results of the study a team of researchers, educators, and filmmakers got together and developed a series of touchable videos (more on this innovative format later) and interactive simulations that demonstrate techniques for pleasure. These videos made up OMGYES Season 1. Thanks to the the inaugural season’s success, Season 2 (focused on Inner Pleasure) and Season 3 (focused on Toy Techniques) were launched as the team continues to do more research, expanding and growing the evidence-based, human understanding of sexual pleasure.
Research: The Scientific Backbone of OMGYES
As already mentioned a key differentiator of the OMGYES platform is that it’s evidence-based in nature. Season 1 builds on the learnings from over 3000 in-depth interviews with women, 15000 surveys, and the first representative study in the US that explored the specifics of women’s pleasure and touch. 4000 women participated int he study, which was carried out in collaboration with researchers at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indiana University’s School of Public Health and The Kinsey Institute. The results have been peer-reviewed and published.
One of the most interesting findings from the study was that there are actually shared techniques and variations across the majority of women. While we may think that everyone is different (and that is indeed true), the various techniques can be combined in many different ways to create the unique pleasurable experience we all seek.
What Kind of Content Can One Expect on OMGYES?
Enough about the theory now though! You’re probably curious what to expect when you sign up. At its core OMGYES is a pretty unique sex and pleasure education course. So far 3 Seasons have been released, which all follow a similar format. The first season of the program focuses on clitoral stimulation, while the second season delves into the topic of internal pleasure. The third season focuses on using sex toys. Each season also features real women who share their preferences in interviews and demo videos.
Each season is divided into topics that focus on different techniques for increasing pleasure. Whether you prefer to follow a structured approach or pick and choose topics as you go, OMGYES offers a comprehensive and informative resource for improving your sexual experiences. While some people prefer to binge all content in one sitting, it is recommended you take your time and watch one topic per week to fully benefit from all the insights and apply them in real life.
These techniques are presented through a variety of materials, including interviews with women sharing their experiences and preferences, text explanations, research findings, diagrams, live demonstrations, and interactive elements. Season 1 is known for its so-called “touchable simulations. So let’s talk about what exactly those are.
Touchable Simulations in OMGYES? What’s That?
OMGYES’s Season 1 includes 11 touchable videos, which allow users to practice techniques they’ve learned on a touchscreen or computer. Each of the women in Season 1 collaborated with OMGYES engineers to create a coded model of her preferences, reactions, and sensitivities. As you touch the simulation, you get the kinds of feedback she’d give, in her voice. It’s not just educational, but also pretty fascinating and quite fun.
The simulations are a way of modeling different ways women actually give feedback to guide their partners to what feels best for them. According to research this is the most important ‘technique’ of all when it comes to women’s pleasure – guiding, suggesting, experimenting, listening, and responding in real-time.
Is OMGYES Porn?
Absolutely not! OMGYES is not pornographic. While there are of explicit videos that demonstrate sexual techniques (which are clearly marked by the way), the videos and simulations are educational and designed to help users explore their sexuality in a safe and respectful way. The platform also emphasizes the importance of communication and consent in sexual relationships.
Who Is OMGYES for? Only women? Men? Couples?
Basically anyone who cares about female pleasure could benefit. OMGYES shares that currently around 50% of users are women, the other half are men. While some prefer to explore on their own, some couples also use it together.
Did Emma Watson Really Endorse OMGYES?
Yes, she did! Indeed OMGYES gained mainstream attention when actress Emma Watson (known as Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter Series) endorsed the platform in a 2016 interview with Gloria Steinem. Watson praised OMGYES for its positive and empowering approach to sexuality and encouraged others to try it out.
How Much Does OMGYES Cost? (Price)
Unlike other sex and pleasure education programs, OMGYES is not a subscription product. When you buy a Season of OMGYES, you’ll get permanent access to that Season’s content. But in order to access other Seasons, you’d have to purchase them separately. Kind of like how when you buy a book, you’re also not buying all future books from that author.
Currently there are two packages:
- Essentials ( Season 1, 60 videos) costs $49
- Essentials + Explore More (Seasons 1, 2 & 3, 300 videos) costs $99
OMGYES occasionally offers discounts and promotions, so it’s worth keeping an eye out for those. OMGYES does not offer a free or freemium version of the platform.
Is OMGYES Worth It?
OMGYES isn’t cheap, but it offers high-quality content. Whether OMGYES is worth it depends on your personal preferences and goals. If you’re looking for a platform that provides research-based information and tools to help you explore your sexuality in a safe and respectful way, then OMGYES might be worth checking out. The platform is designed for women and people with vulvas, but it can also be informative for partners and people of all genders.
OMGYES has received positive reviews from users and publications alike. Cosmopolitan called it “an online sexual pleasure revolution,” while Forbes praised it for its “empowering and educational” approach. Users have also praised the platform for its user-friendly design and informative content
