1 in 6 women in the U.S. are living with herpes, a common sexually transmitted disease that causes pain or itching red bumps or blisters, ulcers or scaps. Today, on National Herpes Awareness Day, Organicare, the company behind Femiclear, an over-the-counter genital herpes product, is teaming up with Dr. Jessica Shepherd and a group of women sharing their stories online to create awareness and help to destigmatize the condition.

The key message of the campaign? Women need solutions, not shame.

Genital herpes is a common sexually transmitted disease (STD) that any sexually active person can get. Most people with the virus don’t have symptoms. However, even without signs of the disease, herpes can still be spread to sex partners.

As part of the campaign FemiClear is committed to giving away over $30,000 in product to women with genital herpes so that they can try the over the counter all-natural science backed product to treat symptoms.
