Digital health platform LipoCheck has secured €2.5 million in a successful seed funding round to expand its platform, enhance telehealth services, and drive international expansion. The Germany-based company is focused on lipedema care.
The financing round was led by TGFS – Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen, with participation from GIMIC Ventures, the investment arm of Osnabrück’s HealthCare Accelerator OHA, Gateway Ventures, and strategic partner Prange Gruppe, which has numerous investments in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. Several renowned family offices and business angels also participated in the round.
LipoCheck provides innovative digital health solutions for women with lipedema – an often undiagnosed but painful fat distribution disorder. Through the LipoCheck and LipoAlly apps, affected individuals can document their symptoms, access medical knowledge, and benefit from specialized telehealth services. The company also works closely with health insurance companies and medical professionals to ensure better care from initial suspicion through treatment support.
The company has already successfully secured contracts with three health insurance providers, and the LipoCheck app is growing by 10 percent monthly – a sign of the increasing demand for digital health solutions for lipedema patients.

“With this financing, we can further develop our technology, reach more patients, and scale our platform internationally,” says Helena Rapprich, CEO and co-founder of LipoCheck. “Our goal is to enable millions of women worldwide to receive an early diagnosis and the best possible access to treatment.”
Dr. Stefan Rapprich, specialist in dermatology, phlebology, and co-founder of LipoCheck, also expressed enthusiasm about the success: “For decades, I have been committed as a physician to helping those affected by lipedema. Now we are bringing this knowledge into the digital world and closing a care gap that offers real added value to all stakeholders in the healthcare system – but above all to the millions of affected women.”
The new funding will enable LipoCheck to further expand its telehealth services, strategic partnerships with insurance companies and physicians, and research and development of new AI modules. The company also plans to enter additional European markets and the United States.
