
Hertility, a UK-based women’s telehealth platform, released its fourth annual Reproductive Report, analyzing over 500,000 patient assessments. The findings highlight persistent knowledge gaps around menstrual cycles and fertility, alongside barriers to specialist care.
While 70% of women have worn a wearable to monitor their health and 51% have used cycle-tracking tools, many remain uncertain about basic reproductive health. The report found that 22% of women don’t know their cycle length—a stat that increases for those under 25—while 41% trying to conceive are unsure of their fertile window.
Hertility attributes much of the confusion to a fragmented care ecosystem, where health data, symptoms, and reproductive information are spread across multiple apps and providers. In addition to fertility, fatigue emerged as the most commonly reported symptom, with many also citing mental health-related challenges.
“A woman’s cycle lives in one app, her symptoms in another and her hormone results somewhere else. Each gives her a fragment of information, but not the whole picture, and the burden of interpreting it all has quietly shifted from healthcare systems onto women themselves,” said Hertility CEO Dr. Helen O’Neill.
To address those gaps, Hertility combines at-home hormone and fertility testing with telehealth, specialist referrals, education, and personalized health insights through a single platform.
As reproductive health education and resources expand, women often know when something is wrong. Among patients who felt something was “off,” 80% showed indicators of an underlying medical condition, while 74% had at least one hormonal imbalance. Yet only 4.5% of those requiring a specialist referral had received one before joining Hertility.
“Women are good at knowing their bodies. When something feels ‘off’, that instinct carries real clinical weight and deserves to be met with trust, not dismissal,” said O’Neill. “Listening to women earlier and taking their concerns seriously the first time they speak up could dramatically reduce diagnosis delays.”
