HerMD, the women’s health company specializing in menopause and sexual healthcare, has announced its relaunch as a virtual care provider just weeks after closing all its physical locations. The company’s new “Virtual Care by HerMD” service is set to begin operating in Spring 2025, with the waitlist now open for interested patients.

This strategic pivot comes after HerMD announced the closure of all its brick-and-mortar clinics effective March 21, 2025, citing “ongoing challenges in healthcare” that made it difficult to sustain their in-person care model. The company had previously raised approximately $30 million in funding, including an $18 million Series A extension in 2023 that was intended to support expansion to over 200 physical clinics.

According to the company’s announcement, the new virtual platform will continue HerMD’s mission of transforming healthcare for women by providing expert care in gynecology, sexual health, perimenopause, menopause, and weight management. The virtual model will maintain many of the distinctive features that set HerMD apart in the women’s health space, including extended appointment times, personalized treatment plans, and access to specialists with expertise in women’s health.
