Pvolve, the functional fitness method that began as a virtual workout platform before expanding to physical locations, has announced the signing of leases for 10 new studios across seven major U.S. markets, signaling the brand’s continued commitment to in-person fitness experiences.

The fitness franchise, which pairs functional movement with proprietary resistance equipment, is strategically establishing new locations in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Tennessee, and Texas to meet growing demand for its clinically-proven workout method.

From Digital Roots to Physical Expansion

Though now expanding its physical footprint, Pvolve initially gained popularity through its digital platform. The company offers a streaming membership with over 1,300 on-demand classes, a two-way live virtual studio, and targeted series available via web and mobile apps.

This hybrid approach has proven successful, particularly after gaining visibility through a high-profile partnership with Jennifer Aniston, who joined the Pvolve team in June 2023 after first discovering the method as a member in 2021.

“I had a friend who had already been doing Pvolve and not only did I notice her complete transformation – physically in her energy level – but she also explained that Pvolve is functional fitness that respects where your body is at and allows you to work around your current limitations,” explained Aniston when the partnership was announced.

The actress began using Pvolve during recovery from a back injury, sharing that she “fell in love with the program and how it makes you work hard and delivers results…It’s completely different from anything I’d tried before and that’s what made me want to get involved with the company.”

Rachel Katzman, Founder of Pvolve, expressed her excitement about Aniston’s involvement: “I was blown away when I found out that Jennifer Aniston was a secret streamer and doing the workouts at home. The fact that someone so advanced in her fitness journey and with access to a world of options, fell in love with the Pvolve Method after experiencing its benefits, is a dream come true. I’m so excited to see what we do together.”

New Locations Across the Country

The 10 newly announced studio locations span across several states, including Potomac, MD; Murfreesboro, TN; Atlanta, GA (Krog Street); Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Houston, TX (with studios in both the Memorial and Galleria areas); Cypress, TX; Austin, TX (in the Bee Cave and Westlake areas); and Gilbert, AZ.

“Pvolve’s studio growth continues to build momentum, and we’re thrilled to bring our clinically-backed functional fitness method to more communities across the country,” said Julie Cartwright, President of Pvolve. “These new locations will give members the opportunity to experience this transformational workout and experience this transformational workout and Pvolve’s community in real life. We’re excited to work alongside this group of passionate franchise owners who share our mission to help individuals build strong, mobile, and stable bodies for life.”

Research-Backed Approach to Women’s Health

Pvolve’s expansion comes amid growing recognition of the company’s science-based approach to fitness, particularly for women. In January 2024, the company released initial findings from the Healthy Aging Study conducted in partnership with the University of Exeter, examining the impact of Pvolve’s low-impact, resistance-based workouts on women aged 40 and above.

The clinical study revealed significant improvements among participants who followed the Pvolve Method, including a 19% increase in hip and lower body strength and a 21% increase in full-body flexibility. Additional benefits included lower blood lipids, increased lean muscle without an increase in total body mass, and improvements in hip function, balance, mobility, and stability.

Dr. Nima Alamdari, Pvolve Clinical Advisory Board Member, Harvard-trained Physiologist, and Honorary Professor of Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Exeter, emphasized the importance of these findings: “Age-related loss of muscle mass and strength is particularly important to counteract by women over forty because muscle mass and strength of women in their thirties already trends lower.” Adding, “The Healthy Aging Study is a first-of-its-kind, underscoring the efficacy of lower impact, functional fitness on women’s health outcomes, not only protecting and improving physical strength but enhancing women’s quality of life and wellbeing.”

The brand has further strengthened its clinical foundation through the recent appointment of Dr. Jessica Shepherd, a board-certified OB/GYN and longevity expert, to its Clinical Advisory Board.
