Femtech Canada has launched the Women’s Health Medical Pathway program to help Canadian women’s health start-ups accelerate commercialization. The initiative was established in partnership with Innovation Factory and supported by funding from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program.
The wHealth MedPath program provides expert-led services through partnerships with physician networks, contract research organizations, and manufacturing organizations. Services include key opinion leader feedback, product design and testing, regulatory planning, and clinical study design to help companies achieve commercialization milestones.
“We’re addressing a critical gap in Canada’s innovation pipeline,” said Karen Linseman, VP of Operations at Innovation Factory. “With the potential to contribute $27 billion to Canada’s GDP by 2040, women’s health innovation represents one of the country’s most promising growth opportunities.”
Since its 2024 launch, Femtech Canada has built a network of over 170 women’s health companies that have created more than 1,200 jobs nationwide and generated over $250 million in private-sector investment. The organization describes this as the third largest women’s health technology ecosystem globally.
The program addresses gaps in Canada’s women’s health innovation pipeline by providing clinical insight and expert guidance specifically for women’s health technology companies. Applications are open to Canadian companies developing women’s health innovations.
