Carrot Fertility, a leading company in fertility and family-building care, has launched CarrotMatch for maternity, a new pregnancy navigation system designed to connect members with the best pregnancy providers for their specific needs. The tool leverages a unique dataset that evaluates providers across more than 200 metrics, ensuring that members are matched with the highest quality and most cost-effective care available.

CarrotMatch integrates social determinants of health into its matching process, addressing factors such as access to food, transportation, and childcare, which can significantly impact pregnancy experiences and outcomes. Carrot members who follow the system’s recommendations are more likely to conceive in fewer cycles, avoid complications, and deliver at top-rated, cost-effective facilities.

James Wong, Chief Outcomes Officer at Carrot Fertility, explained: “The choice of who to go to for care is the most important decision a Carrot member can make in determining their overall patient experience, clinical outcomes, and total cost of care. CarrotMatch gives people the ability to select high-quality providers based on clinical data and avoid providers who overvalue surgical paths, have poor outcomes, higher complication rates, offer inconsistent or high pricing, or simply create a poor experience.”

Finding reliable, data-driven information about healthcare providers can be challenging, leading many to rely on word-of-mouth recommendations that may not accurately reflect a provider’s quality or cost. CarrotMatch addresses this gap by providing members with a data-backed platform to make informed decisions about their maternity care.

Dr. Asima Ahmad, Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Carrot Fertility, added: “A member with a pre-existing medical condition may be considered high risk in pregnancy, and it’s critical that they find a provider who has experience and exceptional outcomes in that area. With CarrotMatch, these members can be educated on their provider options and avoid physicians who may have high rates of C-sections, complications, and unnecessary monitoring.”

CarrotMatch is part of Carrot’s broader commitment to personalized, clinically backed pregnancy support. The platform has already seen success in improving pregnancy outcomes, with Carrot members experiencing a 31% reduction in C-section rates through engagement with midwives, doulas, and Carrot Experts. Additionally, Carrot member pregnancies have resulted in 32% fewer NICU visits, significantly reducing high-cost claims.
