Menstrual cup company Asan Cup has released a new free period tracking app that allows users to monitor both their cycles and the environmental impact of their period product choices.
The app, backed by Innovate UK’s Unlocking Potential Award and developed in collaboration with Old St Labs, enables users to track cycle phases, mood, flow, and symptoms while providing real-time data about how individual and community choices affect the environment. Users can monitor their savings on period products, waste diverted from landfills, and CO2 emissions saved by choosing eco-friendly alternatives.
“While millions of people use period tracking apps, we wanted to create one that bridges the gap between menstrual health and environmental awareness. Some are familiar with the collective environmental impact of period products, but it’s often hard to see how our individual choices make a difference. Our app empowers users to track their cycles, gain deeper insights into their well-being, and understand the environmental footprint of their period products so they can make more informed, sustainable decisions,” said Ira Guha, Founder of Asan Cup.
The app features a minimalistic interface and prioritizes user privacy, with all data being anonymized and never shared with third parties. It includes tracking capabilities for various sustainable period products, including menstrual discs, cups, and period underwear. All insights and analytics are available free of charge.
