Apple announced at WWDC 2026 that its Health app’s cycle tracking will expand to support menopause and perimenopause – not just fertility and menstrual periods. The update, seven years after cycle tracking first launched in 2019, includes the ability to log menopausal and perimenopausal symptoms, access educational content, and receive notifications when logged cycle patterns suggest perimenopause may be occurring (available for users aged 40 and over).
The notification feature is notable: If the app detects cycle deviations consistent with perimenopause, it will prompt users to have a conversation with their doctor. Apple emphasized that the feature is not a replacement for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
The update reflects a broader cultural and commercial shift. Perimenopause and menopause have moved from overlooked to mainstream across consumer health, with companies from Oura to Hims & Hers to Midi Health building dedicated features and care pathways around midlife hormonal health. Apple entering the space with its Health app brings menopause visibility to an enormous audience.
Every year about 2 million women enter perimenopause in the U.S., and research suggests that more than half of women aged 30-35 already experience moderate or severe perimenopause symptoms. About 6,000 U.S. women enter menopause every day.
