Carrot, the global fertility, family-building, and hormonal health benefits platform, has expanded its parenting offering by integrating on-demand pediatric telemedicine from Blueberry Pediatrics. The new service gives parents of children under 12 access to 24/7 virtual visits with board-certified pediatricians for common illnesses and injuries.
Members also receive a home medical kit – including a wireless ear scope, pediatric pulse oximeter, and thermometer – enabling remote assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. The employer pitch centers on cost savings and reduced absenteeism: pediatric ED visits average over $1,100 each and occur at a rate of nearly one per infant per year, and Blueberry’s data suggests telemedicine can reduce unnecessary ED visits by up to 40%.
“Parents shouldn’t have to choose between caring for their sick child and meeting work responsibilities,” said Carrot founder and CEO Tammy Sun.
The addition extends Carrot’s existing parenting benefits – which already include expert chats, educational resources, and care navigation – into real-time clinical access. For Carrot, it’s a continued push to build out its platform beyond its core fertility and family-building offering into a broader lifecycle play spanning preconception through menopause.
