Perelel, a women’s health company offering stage-specific hormonal and reproductive support, has acquired LOOM, an educational community platform for reproductive health, sexual wellness, and parenting education. This acquisition combines Perelel’s medically-backed approach with LOOM’s community-driven educational platform.
Founded in 2020 by Victoria Thain Gioia and Alex Taylor, alongside Medical Co-Founder Dr. Banafsheh Bayati, Perelel offers targeted nutrition for different stages of a woman’s hormonal journey. The company developed in response to a perceived need for more precise approaches to hormonal care, particularly in prenatal nutrition.
LOOM, co-founded by Erica Chidi in 2017, provides health resources to women and non-binary individuals. The platform covers topics from menstrual health to menopause, offering stage-specific guidance and personalized support.

Erica Chidi, LOOM’s Co-Founder and CEO, will join Perelel as a strategic advisor. Chidi said: “Today, I am proud to join Perelel as a strategic advisor and combine our power to amplify our shared mission of supporting women of all stages throughout their hormonal lifespan.”
In the past year, Perelel has expanded its product portfolio by 50% and sold 48 million capsules, according to the company, and reports 120+% year-over-year growth since its inception. Perelel recently closed a $6 million Series A financing round led by Unilever.
Perelel pledged $10 million in February to Magee-Womens Research Institute and Good+ Foundation. Through its 1:1 giveback program, Perelel reports donating over $2.5 million to support underserved communities lacking access to essential prenatal care.
