Xella Health has launched as an AI-powered precision health platform designed to detect over 130 conditions specific to female biology – including PMOS, endometriosis, Hashimoto’s, PMDD, and perimenopause timelines – by sequencing biomarker data from genomics, proteins, and hormones alongside clinical inputs like symptoms, lifestyle risks, and medical history. The company has raised $4.7 million in angel and pre-seed funding from Precursor Ventures, Capital F, Ulu Ventures, and strategic angel investors, and has accumulated a 15,000-person waitlist, according to the company.
Founded by Kelly Lacob, Adriana Dantas, and Dr. Jesus Ching, PhD – all three previously at Mammoth Biosciences, the CRISPR diagnostics company – Xella pairs multi-omic testing processed through its own CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited lab with personalized telehealth care and longitudinal tracking.
Members complete an onboarding questionnaire, schedule a blood draw through partner labs like Quest or Labcorp, and receive an AI-generated probability risk profile across 130+ conditions. Results are translated into a personalized healthcare roadmap and reviewed with a certified telehealth physician who determines clinical action plans including hormone therapy or specialist referrals.
“Women have been trapped in a diagnostic dark age experiencing debilitating symptoms routinely dismissed by the healthcare system,” said CEO Kelly Lacob. “This dismissal results in women being diagnosed 4 years later than men, on average, for the same conditions. Xella is here to replace the systemic medical gaslighting women have endured for generations.”
The company is advised by Dr. Allison Kurian (director of Stanford Women’s Clinical Cancer Genetics Program) and Dr. Lynn Westphal (chief medical officer of Kindbody), among others from Mammoth Biosciences, Roche, and GRAIL. Annual membership is $499 (HSA/FSA eligible), with additional screenings available for deeper fertility and perimenopause insights. Xella is available in 48 states, with New York and New Jersey expected by early 2027.
