Unravel Health has raised £2.5 million to launch Micro Lab, an at-home, saliva-based hormone test. The round was led by Conduit EIS Impact Fund and Wrightwood, with participation from Leo Capital, Embryo Ventures, Hermesa and Zinc.
Developed at the University of Glasgow, Micro Lab device measures multiple hormones from saliva in minutes, allowing users to track changes and symptoms over time.
“Reading hormones in saliva outside a lab has been our Everest,” said Co-Founder and CEO Veronika Bridgman. “Fifteen years ago I built my own hormone tracker to manage PMOS because a blood test told me almost nothing about what my body was doing. Now anyone can bring the lab home to understand their symptoms.”
Unravel’s testing capabilities currently focus on female hormones, with plans to expand into men’s health testing using the new funding.
“Women’s hormonal health is one of the largest under-served markets in healthcare, and the bottleneck has always been data,” said Eva-Maria Dimitriadis, Managing Partner at Conduit EIS Impact Fund. “Unravel is solving a hard technical problem that many are trying to address: measuring multiple hormones accurately, longitudinally, and affordably.”
Building on more than £1 million in funding from Innovate UK and other investors, Unravel’s latest raise will support further research, development of new markers, and the FDA regulatory process.
