Trellis Health, a digital health platform focused on empowering women with personalized, proactive care, has emerged from stealth mode with $1.8 million in pre-seed funding. The company is led by former Illumina commercial leader Estelle Giraud.
The funding round was led by Palette Ventures, Swizzle Ventures, NEXTBLUE, Suncoast Ventures, and Sundial Foundation, with participation from notable healthcare investors including Care.com founder Sheila Marcelo, Flo Health co-founders Yuri Gurski and Andrei Kouzel, Simple founder and CEO Mike Prytkov, as well as Naseem Sayani and executives from ARM, Microsoft AI, and others.
Trellis Health was established to address significant gaps in women’s healthcare. Despite technological advances, maternal mortality rates in the U.S. remain the highest among high-income nations, and postpartum care is often inadequate. With over 100 million Americans lacking a primary care provider, women frequently navigate health challenges with limited support, relying on internet searches and fragmented medical records.
“For too long, women have been left to navigate their health, and their families’ health, without adequate tools, support, or information,” said Estelle Giraud, CEO and Co-founder of Trellis Health. “Trellis Health is changing that, using decades of health history to provide unparalleled context into an individual’s health history. We’re building the foundation for generational, proactive consumer health with a private and secure digital health platform that uses AI to translate years of your health context into actionable, intelligent insights paired with innovative care solutions.”
The company’s AI-driven platform aims to function as a modern-day family doctor by integrating medical data, providing intelligent insights, and offering continuous support through pregnancy and beyond. Connected to more than 50,000 healthcare providers nationwide, Trellis transforms fragmented health data into actionable, easy-to-understand timelines to help establish what they call “generational health.”
Giraud’s vision for the company was shaped by her personal pregnancy experience combined with her background in genomics and digital health. Having worked with major consumer health data companies for a decade, she recognized the disconnect between the vast amount of health data being generated and outdated privacy and security practices. Trellis Health aims to put women at the center of their health blueprint with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate health at every life stage.
“The rapid expansion of wellness offerings, wearables, and digital health tools has created a fragmented landscape, leaving consumers overwhelmed with disconnected data and few trusted resources to make sense of it,” said Rana Taghdisi Argenio, Founding Partner, Palette Ventures. “Trellis Health is stepping in at this breaking point, offering an integrated platform that unifies medical history, provides continuous care, and delivers the proactive health management solution that modern consumers, especially women, desperately need.”
Designed as more than just a pregnancy app, Trellis Health is building what it describes as an operating system for women’s lifetime health. Through partnerships with healthcare providers, the platform will offer personalized guidance for women navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. The company’s goal is to set a new standard in digital health that empowers women while helping to improve women’s health statistics and add “decades of health to their lives.”
The platform was developed by scientists, technologists, and parents in collaboration with clinicians. It aims to bridge critical gaps in women’s healthcare with tools that simplify health management over time through personalized recommendations, tailored insights, and seamless tracking.
