Talkspace has launched Chapters, a clinical program addressing mental health needs across different stages of women’s lives. The program offers treatment pathways for adolescence and young adulthood, fertility and family planning, pregnancy and postpartum, midlife and menopause, and later life and caregiving.

Clients are identified through Talkspace’s intake and screening process and guided into care pathways based on their current life stage and concerns. Clinicians trained in women’s mental health provide therapy using evidence-based modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches.

“Women’s lives are defined by transitions — biological, relational, and social,” said Dr. Nikole Benders-Hadi, Talkspace’s Chief Medical Officer. “Our program was built to honor that complexity. Whether someone is navigating adolescence, new motherhood, or menopause, their care should be informed by their experiences and rooted in understanding.”

At least one in five women in the United States experience a diagnosable mental health condition each year, and women are nearly twice as likely as men to develop anxiety or depression, according to the company. Postpartum depression affects one in eight new mothers, and approximately 20% of women experience mental health symptoms linked to hormonal changes during menopause.

The program integrates with Talkspace’s women’s health partners, including Tia Health, The Lactation Network, Ovia Health, Conceive, Evernow, FitOn, Nurx, Cove, and Nutrium.

The Chapters program is available to Talkspace members across the United States and is covered by most major insurers that partner with Talkspace. Individuals can self-refer into the program.
