Amulet, a new hormonal health company backed by investors including Maria Sharapova and Gabriela Hearst, has launched with Daily Cycle Support – a supplement combining two bio-identical active ingredients designed to work with the body’s estrogen-driven hormonal rhythms: precision-fermented human lactoferrin and creatine monohydrate.

The lactoferrin component is what makes this formulation distinct. Amulet uses effera, a bio-identical human lactoferrin developed by New York-based biotech Helaina through precision fermentation. Unlike the cow-derived lactoferrin typically used in supplements, effera mirrors native human lactoferrin – the bioactive protein naturally found in the female reproductive tract and in breast milk. The partnership represents one of the first consumer applications of precision-fermented human proteins in a women’s health supplement, and signals a broader shift from using ingredients that happen to be available toward engineering ones specifically matched to female biology.

“We’re incredibly excited to support Amulet’s launch and its vision to help women live better lives,” said Helaina founder and CEO Laura Katz. “It reflects a broader shift in our industry – from using ingredients that were simply available to creating ones like effera that are designed to match women’s biology.”

The formulation also includes creatine monohydrate, which has been extensively studied in sports and cognitive performance but largely overlooked in the context of women’s hormonal health. Research shows women typically have 70-80% lower creatine stores than men, and both lactoferrin expression and creatine metabolism are estrogen-responsive – meaning targeted supplementation may help support more consistent performance throughout the menstrual cycle.

Amulet is led by CEO Suzanne Stockbridge, formerly GM of Oddity’s SpoiledChild, and is a Squared Circles company (the consumer health venture studio partnered with L Catterton). Its scientific advisory board includes Dr. Stephanie Kuku of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and honorary senior research fellow at the UCL Institute of Women’s Health.

“For too long, women’s health solutions have been reactive, fragmented, and narrowly focused on symptom relief,” said Stockbridge. “Amulet was built around a different vision: helping women perform more consistently across their entire cycle.”

“Women’s physiology is dynamic and cyclical, yet most health products ignore this fundamental biological reality,” said Dr. Kuku. “Amulet is built around a deeper understanding of hormonal biology and uses evidence-based ingredients to help stabilize fluctuations that influence mood, energy, and performance.”

Sharapova joins as both investor and strategic advisor. “Throughout my career I was expected to perform no matter what time of the month it was, and there wasn’t any conversation about how our cycles affect how we feel, train, and show up every day,” she said. “That’s one of the reasons I connected with Amulet.”
