French pharma company Sanofi has made a strategic investment in Kasha Global, an e-commerce platform focused on healthcare access for women across Africa. This investment, made through Sanofi’s Global Health Unit’s Impact Investment Fund, aims to support Kasha’s expansion into new markets and enhance its technological capabilities. The goal is to make affordable healthcare products more accessible to underserved communities throughout the continent.

Kasha Global, founded in 2016, has been pioneering healthcare and personal care access for women in Rwanda and Kenya. The company leverages technology to reach customers in both rural and urban areas, delivering a variety of personal care, health, and beauty products. Its approach to healthcare distribution has disrupted the traditional supply chain, enabling more efficient delivery of essential products to even the most remote locations.

“This partnership with Sanofi is a significant milestone for Kasha,” said Joanna Bichsel, Kasha’s Founder and CEO. “Sanofi’s investment will enable us to scale our operations, increase awareness of non-communicable diseases, and make essential medications more accessible to people in need. Together, we can transform healthcare in Africa by leveraging technology and data-driven insights.”

Kasha’s focus aligns closely with Sanofi’s global health mission. The company’s goal is to improve healthcare outcomes by reaching vulnerable communities and addressing unmet needs, particularly in developing regions. The investment will provide Kasha with the necessary resources to expand its reach and further develop its e-commerce platform.
