Redesign Health and Cedars-Sinai have announced a strategic partnership to develop and launch multiple healthcare companies in the coming years, combining venture-building expertise with clinical and research capabilities.
The collaboration aims to address challenges in the U.S. healthcare system including rising costs, workforce shortages, and increasing complexity in patient care by creating solutions that are both clinically effective and operationally scalable.
“We chose to partner with Redesign Health because of their exceptional track record in building successful healthcare companies and their unique approach to innovation,” said Murali Gangadharan, Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business Development, and Chief Strategy Officer at Cedars-Sinai. “Their methodology for identifying opportunities, attracting exceptional founders, and scaling solutions aligns perfectly with our vision for transformative healthcare. Together, we’re combining entrepreneurial expertise with the clinical excellence and research capabilities of an academic medical center to launch transformative healthcare companies.”
The partnership will provide healthcare entrepreneurs with resources including Redesign Health’s venture-building expertise and network of entrepreneurs, investors, and industry partners. Redesign Health has previously launched over 60 companies in the healthcare sector including women’s health companies Intrinsic (which seems to have shut down), and Iron health (which was acquired by Metronomic last year).
Cedars-Sinai will contribute its operational infrastructure, clinical expertise, and access to its healthcare network for testing and implementation. The partnership will also leverage Cedars-Sinai’s dataset to facilitate the use and validation of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies in developing digital healthcare solutions.
The partnership represents an expansion of Redesign Health’s strategy to collaborate with leading healthcare institutions to develop new companies addressing specific healthcare challenges.
