Digital health company Metronomic has acquired Iron Health, a tech-enabled women’s health provider that serves as an extension of OB/GYN practices. The acquisition, completed on December 30, 2024, aims to integrate Iron Health’s care delivery services with Metronomic’s Materno pregnancy management platform.
Iron Health, founded in 2022, has raised $8.5M in funding since its inception and was backed by Redesign Health. The company will continue to operate independently, and remains focused on primary care, behavioral health, weight management, and pregnancy support services, as well as improving care coordination and reducing provider burnout.
As part of the transition, Metronomic founder and CEO Dr. Sujith Krishnan will take over as CEO of Iron Health, succeeding founder Stephanie Winans, who will assist with the transition over the next three months. The existing Customer Success team led by Lydia Valdez and Care Delivery team led by Elizabeth Skafish will remain in their roles.
“We have exciting plans for Iron Health”, shares Dr. Sujith Krishnan. “Iron Health has built an amazing organization over the past few years acting as vital extension for OBGYN clinics helping patients access a comprehensive range of services remotely. We plan to build on that, and expand the service offering with a focus on maternity and post-partum care. We will also introduce our technology platform, Materno, within existing and new partnerships which will create even more value for Iron Health’s OBGYN customers and their patients.”
Metronomic specializes in building technology platforms for patient engagement, telehealth, remote monitoring, and care management. Their Materno platform enables OBGYN clinics to integrate remote monitoring and care management services into their practices. The combined company now aims to create an integrated end-to-end service offering for both obstetrics and gynecology segments, and to further grow its presence in the digital women’s health space.
