The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has announced the launch of DiscoverWHR, a new research discovery platform developed through a collaboration between the Office of Research on Women’s Health (ORWH) and the National Library of Medicine (NLM).

The platform serves as a centralized hub for women’s health research, bringing together NIH-funded resources including open funding opportunities, awarded research projects, clinical trials, and the latest published literature. It currently focuses on key areas including menopause, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and select autoimmune conditions such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and scleroderma.

Designed to benefit researchers, healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers alike, DiscoverWHR provides access to patient-friendly summaries of health topics alongside detailed research information. The platform aims to support improved health outcomes for women while fostering innovative research in the field.

The resource is part of broader NIH efforts to address gaps in women’s health research across different life stages. Future enhancements to the platform will include additional research topics, data science tools, and artificial intelligence capabilities.
