Monarch has launched a platform enabling women’s health physicians to establish independent, membership-based practices while retaining full ownership and clinical autonomy. The New York-based company provides operational infrastructure and practice management tools designed to address physician burnout and improve patient care quality.
The platform targets systemic issues in women’s healthcare, where nearly half of U.S. physicians report burnout symptoms. Women’s health specialists face particular challenges as complex care requires longer consultations that current reimbursement models inadequately support, while patients experience increasing delays and fragmented care.
“Monarch was built to address a fundamental failure in healthcare: The system is broken, and it’s women who are too often overlooked, underserved, and left behind,” said Anna Lohrfink, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer of Monarch. “Our mission is simple: Empower great doctors to deliver the care women deserve—personal, proactive, and focused on helping them thrive in every stage of life.”
Monarch-affiliated physicians maintain complete ownership of their practices and clinical decision-making authority while the platform handles administrative functions including staffing, billing, marketing, and technology integration. This structure allows physicians to maintain smaller patient panels, offer extended appointments, and generate more predictable revenue through membership fees.
The membership-based model represents an alternative to traditional insurance-driven care, enabling physicians to spend more time on preventive and relationship-based medicine. Physicians can focus on clinical excellence rather than administrative requirements that contribute to burnout and reduce patient interaction time.
“Monarch makes it possible to practice medicine the way it was always meant to be practiced—rooted in deep relationships, centered on the full spectrum of health, and driven by clinical excellence,” said Dr. Suzanne Gilberg, Chief Clinical Officer at Monarch.
The company’s founding team combines healthcare delivery, digital health, and practice operations expertise, supported by clinical advisors specializing in women’s health and concierge medicine. Monarch has assembled its first physician cohort and provides comprehensive launch support for new practices.
The platform addresses growing demand for alternative healthcare models as traditional systems struggle to accommodate the complexity of women’s health needs. By removing administrative burdens, Monarch aims to enable physicians to deliver more thorough, personalized care while maintaining professional autonomy.
