Elysian Park VC, the private investment arm of the LA Dodgers Ownership Group, the Los Angeles Dodgers, sports legend Billie Jean King and R/GA Ventures are teaming up to launch Trailblazer, a new Venture Studio focused on what they believe to be the biggest growth opportunity in sports: women.
Trailblazer will partner with entrepreneurs and companies— from early-stage startups to later-stage businesses — that put women leaders, athletes, and fans first. Focus will be on businesses who operate in one of the following categories:
- Media, culture, and storytelling
- Health, fitness, and well-being
- Training and performance
- Sponsorship and compensation
- Retail and commerce
- Fan experience
- Esports and gaming
Trailblazer now accepts applications for its first cohort. Applications close on May 20, 2022. The program kicks off in May 2022. Most of it will be virtual, with opportunities to be in person in both NYC and LA. Participating startups will receive social, creative and investment capital.
