Hormona, a health-tech company using AI and at-home testing to help women track and optimize their hormones, has raised $6.7 million in an oversubscribed seed round led by Voima Ventures and co-led by SuperNode Global VC.

Founded in 2020 by CEO Karolina Löfqvist and COO Jasmine Tagesson, Hormona was inspired by Löfqvist’s personal experience with hormonal health issues that went undiagnosed for years despite extensive medical consultations. According to the company, 80% of women worldwide experience hormone-related issues.

“For too long, women have had to suffer through hormonal issues, relying on trial and error and waiting until symptoms become unbearable,” said Löfqvist. “We built Hormona to change that – to give women control over their hormonal health without having to spend years suffering, as I did. This investment brings us one step closer to making real-time hormone tracking accessible to women everywhere without the need for multiple blood draws.”

Hormona has developed what it describes as the first fully quantitative at-home hormone tests, offering over 90% accuracy compared to traditional venous blood sampling. The tests are designed to track hormonal health without requiring laboratory visits.

The company’s app has been downloaded in over 190 countries and is experiencing 30% month-over-month growth, with 80% of users remaining active after 12 months.

“At Voima Ventures, we seek out visionary teams and bold science that can redefine entire industries, and Hormona is exactly that,” said Inka Mero, Managing Partner and Founder at Voima Ventures. “By tackling one of the most overlooked yet fundamental aspects of women’s well-being – hormonal health – they are giving millions of women the tools, data, and empowerment to take control of their bodies and lives.”

The funding will support the launch of Hormona’s hormone tests, expand B2B partnerships, and strengthen infrastructure, marketing, and sales. The company offers a freemium model with Hormona+ premium subscriptions available for £9.99 monthly or £59.99 annually.
