Great Many, a New York City-based startup, has successfully raised $3.6 million in pre-seed funding to transform hair loss treatments, offering a much-needed solution to both men and women grappling with this often-overlooked issue. While hair loss is frequently associated with men, a significant number of women also suffer from this condition, which can have profound effects on their self-esteem and overall well-being.

The funding round was led by BrandProject, with additional investments from Midnight Venture Partners, Tonic Ventures, and prominent angel investors. The capital will support the expansion of Great Many’s offerings, including a new product line and telehealth services, aimed at making hair growth solutions more accessible nationwide.

Great Many was founded by beauty industry veterans Michael Pollak and Steve Klebanow, who saw a gap in the market for high-quality, expert-driven hair growth solutions. “In the last 10+ years, there have been so many concepts launched making skincare and aesthetics more accessible – from facial shops to med spas to cosmetic dermatologist offices. We know how much hair matters to people, yet the space still leaves people confused, full of myths, and without a high-touch solution,” say Pollak and Klebanow. “Great Many is home for hair growth and 100% dedicated to providing expert-led, personalized hair growth plans – revolutionizing hair health in the same way specialized clinics did for skincare. We are excited for people to have a plan and partner in maximizing their hair’s potential.”

The company’s NoHo-based flagship studio offers a variety of treatments, including Plasma Hair Restoration (PRP), which is clinically proven to promote hair density and prolong the life of existing hair. For women, this treatment is especially relevant as they often face hair loss due to hormonal changes, medical conditions, or stress. PRP and other treatments available at Great Many provide a non-surgical, clinically-backed option that can be life-changing for everyone struggling with hair loss.

Moreover, Great Many is launching a proprietary line of hair care products under its GrowthFactor Formula, designed to promote hair growth and maintain scalp health. This product line, alongside the company’s new telehealth services, makes it possible for women across the country to access expert consultations and effective hair loss treatments from the comfort of their homes.

“Hair loss is an all-too-familiar problem that remains stigmatized for both men and women, and is critical to most people’s identity. The multi-billion-dollar hair loss prevention market is notoriously filled with over promises and confusion, leaving consumers feeling hopeless,” says Andrew Black, Founder and Managing Partner of BrandProject. “Great Many is here to change that with their holistic one-stop-shop solution for people to receive comprehensive, science-backed products and in-studio treatments, all supported by top medical hair experts. We are thrilled to be early investors in Great Many, supporting exceptional founders Steve and Michael on their journey to reimagine hair growth.”

For women, the psychological impact of hair loss can be particularly severe, affecting their confidence, self-image, and even leading to social withdrawal. By offering a blend of cutting-edge treatments, personalized care, and accessible telehealth options, Great Many is addressing not only the physical symptoms of hair loss but also the emotional and psychological challenges that accompany it.

“PRP treatments, and future treatments Great Many will offer, will be a life-changing service for many men and women in NYC and across the country,” says Lukas Keindl, Co-founder of BondVet.
