Gabbi, a women’s virtual breast health platform, has announced a partnership with ByteDance to provide breast cancer risk assessment and specialist access to the tech company’s global workforce. The initiative launches for over 16,000 individuals in the United States, with planned expansion to Canada this month, followed by Australia, France, and the United Kingdom in March 2025.
The collaboration challenges traditional breast cancer screening guidelines, which typically restrict mammogram and MRI access to women aged 40 or 50 and above. Instead, Gabbi’s program introduces proactive breast cancer detection for employees of all ages.
“We are honored to collaborate with ByteDance in developing an early detection strategy to fulfill their philosophy of investing in their employee’s health and wellness,” said Gabbi CEO, Kaitlin Christine. “They have done the research to realize the only way to drastically move the needle is by getting women to an early stage diagnosis, which begins with women learning their risk and being able to access care quickly in order to get an early stage diagnosis.”
The company recently launched a virtual care model offering same-day or next-day telehealth appointments with breast specialists. These specialists provide personalized care plans, discuss and order genetic testing, and prescribe appropriate imaging based on individual risk profiles.
The ByteDance partnership follows other recent developments for Gabbi, including an investment from Catalyst by Wellstar. The Georgia-based healthcare system has also entered a commercial agreement to implement Gabbi’s technology within its women’s health service line.
As part of the Biden Cancer Moonshot initiative, Gabbi is expanding its early detection services across twelve states, including California, Texas, Illinois, Ohio, Virginia, Georgia, New York, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and New Jersey. The company’s platform assesses breast cancer risk in under two minutes and aims to facilitate access to care seven times faster than traditional routes.
Looking ahead, Gabbi plans to expand its in-network coverage with more health plans and has set a goal of helping save 100 lives in 2025 through its early detection approach.
