Emm has raised $9 million in seed funding to launch a smart menstrual cup with integrated sensors and a connected app. The round was led by Lunar Ventures, with participation from Labcorp Venture Fund, Tiny VC, BlueLion Global, and Alumni Ventures.
Angel investors include Amar Shah (co-founder of Wayve), Vivek Garipalli (founder of Clover Health and Wormhole Capital), and Harpreet Rai (former CEO of Oura). The company has also received non-dilutive funding including grants for women’s health technology innovation.
The device combines medical-grade silicone with ultra-thin sensors to measure menstrual flow volume and track cycle metrics including duration, frequency, and regularity. The connected app collates baseline data over time, allowing users to identify patterns and track their menstrual health.
“Menstruation is known as the fifth vital sign, but has historically been overlooked by the wearable sector, leaving millions without the data they need to understand and advocate for their own bodies,” said Jenny Button, founder and CEO of Emm. “We envision a future where menstrual health is measured and understood as comprehensively as cardiovascular or metabolic health.”

One in three women will experience severe menstrual or reproductive health symptoms in their lifetime, according to the company. The app allows users to establish a baseline in three cycles.
“Emm’s technology has the potential to serve as both a biological sample and data insights platform, unlocking new knowledge and opportunities for researchers and biotech focused on women’s health and beyond,” said Dr. Grace E. Colón, Board Chair at Emm. Colón has nearly 30 years of experience across biopharma, genomics, and healthcare, and serves on boards including Voyager Therapeutics, MIT, and BIO.
“We’re proud to back Jenny and the Emm team as they build the foundational technology to transform women’s health and drive measurable impact in chronic diseases,” said Mick Halsband, Partner at Lunar Ventures. “Their world-first platform has the potential to redefine standards of care and data quality in menstrual health and beyond.”
The device was developed over five years with thousands of design iterations and extended user testing. Emm will launch in the UK in early 2026, with other markets to follow.
