Smart mattress company Eight Sleep has raised $100 million in funding as it expands beyond sleep optimization into medical applications, including women’s health features like its recently launched Hot Flash Mode for menopausal women. The round was led by HSG and Valor Equity Partners, with participation from Founders Fund and Y Combinator.

The funding comes shortly after Eight Sleep launched Hot Flash Mode in July, which uses AI-driven cooling to provide relief for menopause symptoms. As Femtech Insider previously reported, the feature demonstrated significant results in clinical studies, with women experiencing 55% fewer hot flashes when using the Pod’s temperature regulation.

Eight Sleep’s expansion into women’s health represents part of a broader push into medical applications. The company plans to use the new funding to accelerate growth in the medical sector, building on the Pod’s health-monitoring capabilities through its Health Check system, which can monitor cardiovascular and respiratory patterns with up to 99% accuracy without wearable devices.

“We’re not replacing your doctor, but we are giving you nightly, high-accuracy health monitoring so you can act early if trends shift,” said Alexandra Zatarain, co-founder and CMO of Eight Sleep. The company is pursuing FDA approval for its medical applications and developing contactless solutions for sleep apnea.

Since launching the Pod in 2019, Eight Sleep has generated more than $500 million in sales and expanded revenue tenfold. The company has collected insights from over one billion hours of recorded sleep data and now serves customers in over 30 countries.
