CARÁ Health, a startup from Estonia focused on women’s health and wellness throughout the maternity journey, has raised €620,000 in an early seed funding round. This investment will enable the company to further develop its technology and expand its services into Germany.

Founded in early 2022, CARÁ Health has become a vital resource for pregnant women in Estonia. The company’s app, which provides evidence-based information and support services, is used by half of all pregnant women in Estonia. CARÁ Health also offers physical locations that provide a range of women’s health services, including gynecology, nutritionist counseling, pregnancy yoga, and midwife and doula services.

The recent funding round was led by Tera Ventures, with participation from Startup Istanbul founder Burak Büyükdemir via StartupIst Ventures. This brings the total funds raised by CARÁ Health to €750,000. The new capital will support the startup’s expansion into Germany, starting with its recently opened location in Berlin.

“Many women experience long-term health issues after childbirth, yet comprehensive resources for expecting mothers are often lacking,” said CARÁ Health co-founder Carina Vantsi. “Our approach addresses these gaps by offering comprehensive support during pregnancy, which also prepares women for the postpartum period.”

CARÁ Health’s Berlin location, which opened in April, has already seen significant success. Within the first two weeks, 250 spots were sold, highlighting the demand for CARÁ Health’s services outside Estonia. “Selling 250 slots in two weeks has validated our model beyond our home market and accelerated our foreign market rollout plans,” said CARÁ Health CEO Anna Strubel.

CARÁ Health provides a library of evidence-based information, curated product suggestions, targeted podcasts, masterclasses, and personalized support services. These resources aim to alleviate common menopause symptoms such as hot flashes, joint and muscle pain, and pelvic floor disorders, ensuring mothers have the support they need throughout their maternity journey.

The company’s founding team includes pediatric nurse CEO Anna Strubel, and serial entrepreneurs Carina Vantsi and Keiro Vantsi. Supported by a medical board that includes family physician Dr. Anna Melan and gynecologist Dr. Liina Rajasalu, CARÁ Health is staffed by a dedicated team of maternity and women’s health specialists.

Eamonn Carey of Tera Ventures expressed confidence in CARÁ Health’s potential, stating, “We were already impressed by CARÁ Health’s traction in its home market of Estonia. The feedback from their customers and users made the investment decision straightforward.”
