Mahmee is a healthcare app that provides personalized, ongoing postpartum care to new moms and infants.

Mahmee, a maternity and infant telehealth and care coordination platform on a mission to increase access to healthcare for all families, is seeking a Director of Marketing. The company is committed to tackling the issues of maternal and infant mortality, lack of access to care, and the disparities in maternal health care that disproportionately affect Black mothers. This role will lead the visual and verbal communications strategies for the company with the goals of increasing national awareness of the Mahmee brand and mission, and increasing the number of patients, providers and health systems that use Mahmee.
This leader will be expected to work closely with other senior leaders to develop and implement effective marketing programs and events targeting patients, payors/managed care organizations (MCOs), hospitals, and health system executive buyers. The ideal candidate for this role has experience marketing to women and a passion for healthcare equity and social impact.
This is a full-time salaried position based at the company’s headquarters in Los Angeles, but operating remotely during the pandemic.
Competitive base pay, plus commission in cash and stock options. Medical, dental and vision benefits, along with employee perks, are included.

Responsibilities

      • Oversee product marketing, brand awareness, and communications strategy
      • Oversee user acquisition, digital marketing, and content creation
      • Grow and manage a team
Product Marketing, Brand Awareness and Communications Strategy
      • Lead internal and external communications initiatives to ensure consistency of messaging in all D2C and B2B2C efforts.
      • Maintain a strong understanding of competitive landscape, potential partners, and solutions coming to market.
      • Provide direction on messaging and branding for product launches and implementations with hospitals, health systems, regional healthcare programs, and nonprofits.
      • Elevate our local and national presence through branded materials, including slide decks, print and web content, email campaigns, infographics, collateral, white papers, event content, and more.
User Acquisition, Digital Marketing, and Content Creation  
      • Create, manage and experiment with new user acquisition campaigns for patients and providers.
      • Overhaul our lifecycle marketing automation system and processes; identify the tools needed, configure the system and implement the content strategy.
      • Own social media for the Mahmee brand (current: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
      • Establish internal systems and processes for tracking digital marketing campaign effectiveness and impact; establish reporting standards and timelines for presenting this information to the organization.
Grow and Manage a Team
    • Build a marketing organization that reflects Mahmee’s D2C and B2B communications and growth strategies across digital, print, and other channels.
    • Identify opportunities for team growth and additional hires in marketing and communications.
    • Draft job descriptions and lead the recruiting/hiring process.
    • Manage and lead a team to set and accomplish big goals.

Qualifications

    • 5+ years of years of progressive marketing leadership experience.
    • At least 2 years’ experience at the Senior Manager or Director level in a marketing role.
    • Previous experience leading a team; able to manage and supervise staff, including giving and receiving feedback on behavior as well as hiring responsibilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to achieve a CAC that is below LTV.
    • Experience with tracking online campaigns and social media marketing.
    • Healthcare or women’s health industry experience is strongly preferred.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution.
    • Ability to think creatively, design, and apply new strategies, programs and techniques.
    • Proven experience interfacing with both internal and external stakeholders.

Mahmee (MCH Ventures) is a HIPAA-secure, maternity and infant telehealth and care coordination platform that makes it easy for hospitals, health systems, and their patients to coordinate comprehensive prenatal and postpartum healthcare from anywhere. In the U.S., maternal and infant healthcare services are highly fragmented and siloed. This means the burden of navigating the healthcare system falls on millions of new parents. Mahmee links large health systems, independent practitioners, and patients all in one platform so that 1) high-risk patients are identified and preventable medical expenses and readmissions are avoided, 2) health systems can provide innovative new maternity-related products and services, and 3) patients are highly satisfied and engaged in their care experiences because we are supporting them along the journey.
Mahmee was founded by Melissa Hanna, JD/MBA, and inspired by the work of Melissa’s own mother, Linda M. Hanna, RNC, MSN/Ed., IBCLC, who designed and launched both the Great Starts outpatient breastfeeding center at Kaiser Permanente and the Lactation Center at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, in addition to other nationally recognized maternity care programs. Melissa and Linda are joined by cofounder/CTO Sunny Walia, an enterprise platform specialist who previously served as VP of Engineering & Operations at Demand Media and CTO at Spin Media.
