Oura is an award-winning and fast-growing startup that helps people track all stages of sleep and activity using the Oura Ring and connected app. By providing daily feedback and practical steps to inspire healthy lifestyles, we’ve helped hundreds of thousands of people improve their sleep, understand their bodies, and transform their health. We are looking for a Junior Frontend Engineer to join our Ecosystem squad.
The squad has three areas of responsibilities:
- Oura’s API: Our public-facing API is used by both individuals to fetch their own data and by partners who want to integrate their service with Oura.
- Oura Teams: Oura’s B2B product used by doctors and coaches to analyze users’ data and improve their wellbeing, and by researchers to conduct scientific studies using the data generated by Oura.
- Oura on the Web: The web app used by Oura users to further dig in to and download their data.
You will learn about
- Building a contemporary single page application
- Visualising data with SVG
- Responsive layouts
- Using a design system to build new features
- Usability and accessibility
- Automated testing and continuous integration
- Working with version control (git) and issue tracking in an agile environment
Requirements
What you will bring to the team
- 2 years of professional experience with frontend development
- Know React, TypeScript and SCSS, or something closely related
- Understand HTML, CSS, and the DOM
- Enjoy writing well-typed code in a functional style
- Not be afraid to ask questions and look for help
- Have a pragmatic can-do attitude and delivery-focused mindset
- Know something well already — we’re excited to hear what
- Be eager to learn more and build your own expertise
