In our Featured Funder Series we regularly introduce you to investors interested in the femtech space. Know someone who should be featured or want to learn about the initiative and previously featured Features Funders? Click here.
Today’s featured funder is Kerry Rupp, Managing Partner at True Wealth Ventures.
Tell us a little more about yourself! How did you get into investing?
I was running one of the first accelerators, DreamIt Ventures, and we realized we had great insight into the companies and they also needed access to funding, so we built a VC fund around the program.
Which fund do you work with and what is your investment thesis? (Industry focus, preferred stage, average check size, leading or not, regional focus)
True Wealth Ventures. We invest in women-led consumer-facing companies that are improving human and/or environmental health. So not only women’s health, but certainly women’s health! Seed-stage, generally leading priced rounds with first checks of $500-750K. We’re US-focused.
Why are you interested in the femtech space?
There’s lots of opportunity as the space has been historically neglected (or the concept misunderstood). Huge opportunities to improve women’s health as well as achieve investment returns.
What companies are you currently looking for?
We’re looking for women-led, consumer-facing companies improving human and/or environmental health.
What’s the best way to get in touch with you or your fund and how do you prefer to be pitched?
Founders can submit an exec summary or deck over our website or via email. As long as the company fits our thesis & investment stage, we’ll schedule an initial call.
Thank you, Kerry!
