Induvita has raised NOK 7.5 million to develop and scale its gynecological devices in a round led by Hallgrim Bjørvik and Bjørn Åge Brandal, with participation from former investors. The funding brings the company’s total raised to NOK 17.9 million.
The Norway-based medtech company was founded in 2022 by midwife Hege Hansen and gynecologist Stine Andreassen to modernize gynecologic care. Many commonly used tools, including the speculum, have seen little innovation since their introduction in the 19th century.
“Through our clinical experience, we identified significant gaps in women’s health equipment – both for patients and healthcare providers,” Hansen previously told Femtech Insider. “The current standard of care relies on tools that weren’t designed for their intended purpose, yet have been accepted due to lack of alternatives.”
Modernizing equipment, Induvita’s first products, the Runa and Ayla simulators, are used for clinical skills training in gynecological examinations and obstetric care. Now available globally, the simulators exceeded more than NOK 1 million in revenue during their first year on the market.
The latest funding will support the commercial launch of Vega, a redesigned vaginal speculum for gynecological exams, while the company continues development of Iola, a catheter used to induce labor.
Per Andreassen, Induvita’s goal is to create “medical devices that enhance both clinical outcomes and patient experience.”
