Avni Wellness, a Mumbai-based women’s health startup, has secured Rs 4 crore (approximately $470,000) in seed funding led by Proteus Partners, with participation from angel investors including Puru Gupta, Sreejith Moolayil, A. Velumani, and Somya Nigam. The capital will strengthen digital commerce capabilities, expand the company’s cycle nutrition product range, grow its women-led micro-entrepreneur network, and increase its presence across online marketplaces.
Founded in 2021 by Sujata Pawar and Apurv Agarwal, Avni Wellness offers science-backed, toxin-free products spanning adolescence, reproductive years, and menopause. Its portfolio includes a patented antimicrobial reusable sanitary pad, a liposomal iron supplement designed to address iron deficiency among Indian women, and products for PCOS management, calcium supplementation, urinary and vaginal health, and seed-based hormonal nutrition.
The startup aims to bridge gaps in women’s healthcare in India by addressing hormonal health, nutrition, and long-term wellness while integrating livelihood generation and sustainability into its model.
