Natural Cycles has launched NC° Perimenopause, a new app mode for tracking perimenopause symptoms and hormonal changes, alongside the NC° Band, a wearable device that collects overnight biometric data.
NC° Perimenopause is powered by the NC° Menopause Algorithm, which analyzes cycle patterns, symptoms, and biometric data including temperature and heart rate. The algorithm identifies whether a user may be in perimenopause and determines whether she is likely in the early, mid, or late stage. The app integrates with the NC° Band, Oura Ring, and Apple Watch for data collection.
The algorithm was developed by Natural Cycles’ science team in Geneva, Switzerland, using data from a clinical study of perimenopausal women, published literature, and guidance from menopause experts.
In a survey of almost 5,000 Natural Cycles users over age 40, more than 90% reported having low to medium knowledge of menopause, and four out of five felt a need for more information and support around perimenopause and menopausal symptoms.
Natural Cycles now offers five app modes under one subscription: Birth Control, Plan Pregnancy, Follow Pregnancy, Postpartum, and Perimenopause. The company has more than 5 million registered users worldwide and has raised approximately $100 million from investors including EQT Ventures, Bonnier Capital, and Samsung Ventures.
Natural Cycles was founded in 2013 by Dr. Elina Berglund Scherwitzl and Dr. Raoul Scherwitzl. The company developed the first FDA-cleared digital birth control method, which has received regulatory clearances across the United States, Europe, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Singapore, and South Korea.
