Veracity has closed a $6 million funding round led by Maveron and Melitas Ventures to accelerate development of its metabolic health platform focused on root-cause solutions for metabolic dysfunction. The New York-based company has experienced significant growth driven by its natural supplement addressing weight management and metabolic health.
The funding will support product innovation, scientific research, and customer education as Veracity targets the growing metabolic health market. The company has appointed Dr. Giorgio Dell’Acqua as Chief Science Officer, bringing over 25 years of experience in wellness industries including leadership roles at Nutrafol.
Founded by Allie Egan following her personal experience with Hashimoto’s disease, Veracity addresses what the company describes as a critical gap in wellness solutions. The company focuses on evidence-based approaches to metabolic health rather than symptom management.
“This marks a pivotal next step in our mission to redefine metabolic health,” said Egan. “Veracity was born from my own journey navigating a metabolic health condition and the lack of real, root-cause solutions available. What began as a personal challenge has become a movement.”
Central to Veracity’s growth is Metabolism Ignite, a natural supplement for weight management that has driven business expansion of more than 30 times over the past 18 months. The product targets a significant market need, with NIH studies indicating that 93% of people in the United States are metabolically unhealthy, while WHO estimates show over 1.9 billion adults worldwide are overweight.
“Veracity addresses two major macro trends we are looking at as Maveron,” said Jason Stoffer, partner at Maveron. “One is the rise of drugs like Ozempic, by which Americans are addressing their metabolic health en masse. Second is the fact that many people are looking for non-pharmaceutical solutions.”
The company positions itself as providing natural alternatives to pharmaceutical weight management solutions, capitalizing on consumer demand for plant-based approaches to metabolic health. Veracity’s platform combines clinically backed supplements with at-home hormone testing and educational resources.
Dr. Dell’Acqua will oversee advancement of Veracity’s research and development pipeline and product development strategy. His PhD in Cell Biology and industry experience support the company’s science-first approach to metabolic health solutions.
The funding comes as metabolic health gains increased attention amid rising obesity rates and growing interest in personalized wellness approaches. Veracity’s model combines supplement products with educational content and testing to address what it identifies as root causes of metabolic imbalances rather than surface-level symptoms.
