The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ reproductive health information website, reproductiverights.gov, has gone offline following the presidential transition. The site, launched in 2022, provided essential information about abortion access, reproductive healthcare, and patient rights.

Before going dark, the platform offered comprehensive resources about birth control coverage under the Affordable Care Act, state-by-state abortion access information, and details about medication abortion safety and legality. The site also included information about insurance coverage for various reproductive health services, including cancer screenings and prenatal care.

The website was confirmed to be active as recently as January 15th. The new administration has not provided clarification about the site’s removal. This development comes as 12 states maintain total abortion bans, and four states ban abortion after six weeks of pregnancy, according to the Guttmacher Institute.
