Kidron Capital, headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, has announced the first close of its venture capital fund dedicated to women’s health. The fund is led by Founding and Managing Partner Maria Gajda Horowitz and Co-founding and Managing Partner Dr. Anula Jayasuriya. Both Gajda Horowitz and Jayasuriya possess extensive academic and industry expertise in the healthtech sector.
Already, the fund has made investments in several U.S.-based companies:
- Beyond Medicine: This company focuses on mitochondrial health, skin rejuvenation, and alleviating menopausal symptoms.
- Portal: Advancing a scalable solution for oncology clinics, Portal aims to enhance access to care for women facing cancer.
- Renal Guard: Providing a clinically validated solution to prevent Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) during cardiac surgeries, Renal Guard aims to redefine standards of care for women undergoing common surgical procedures.
The venture capital fund aims to explore untapped opportunities in women’s health across Europe, the USA, and Israel. The fund will target various sectors within women’s health, including medical devices, diagnostics, digital health, therapeutics, and services, adopting a diversified investment approach to impact multiple facets of women’s health.
