Withings Health Solutions and Babyscripts have announced a partnership to enhance remote monitoring of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP), a condition that affects nearly 15 percent of all pregnancies in the United States and ranks among the leading causes of maternal morbidity and mortality.

The collaboration will integrate Withings’ BPM Pro 2, an FDA-cleared cellular blood pressure monitor, into Babyscripts’ virtual maternity care program. According to the companies, women having babies today are twice as likely to develop HDP as their mothers.

“Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy develop silently but escalate quickly, which is why real-time home monitoring can be life-saving,” said Antoine Robiliard, Vice President of Withings Health Solutions. “BPM Pro 2 and our Patient Insights feature were designed to go beyond the numbers, capturing symptoms and context from patients at the moment a high reading occurs.”

The Withings device introduces a feature called Patient Insights, which prompts users to answer a short questionnaire directly on the device screen after taking a reading. This allows healthcare providers to detect early warning signs outside traditional clinical settings.

“Our decade of research and clinical implementation confirms that positive outcomes are linked to empowering women to monitor their own blood pressure and share data with providers,” said Anish Sebastian, CEO and co-founder of Babyscripts. “Our partnership with Withings expands our reach and inclusivity by offering blood pressure cuffs that accommodate a broad range of body sizes and BMIs—ensuring accurate, equitable care for all patients.”

The announcement follows new guidance from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) advocating for personalized prenatal care, including routine blood pressure monitoring and alternative care modalities like telemedicine.

Withings Health Solutions is a division of global connected health company Withings, serving healthcare professionals across chronic disease management and remote patient monitoring. Babyscripts, founded in 2014, offers a mobile clinical solution for remote management of pregnancy and postpartum care, with a mission to eliminate maternal mortality and improve access to care.
