Progyny has added pelvic floor therapy to its women’s health benefits platform, partnering with Origin and Hinge Health to provide virtual and in-person treatment options. The expansion addresses a healthcare gap affecting one in three women who experience pelvic floor disorders.

The service targets conditions spanning from young adulthood through menopause, including urinary incontinence, painful intercourse, endometriosis, PCOS, and chronic pelvic pain. Untreated pelvic floor issues can lead to workplace absenteeism and downstream health complications including infertility.

“This is another moment when Progyny is stepping up to help women identify and seek care for basic health needs that are going undiagnosed and untreated due to lack of education, lack of care access, and lack of the right benefits coverage,” said Dr. Janet Choi, Progyny Chief Medical Officer.

Through Origin, members access nationwide in-network pelvic floor physical therapy, both in-person and virtually. Origin provides evidence-based treatment for conditions ranging from postpartum recovery to surgical rehabilitation and ongoing symptom management.

“Origin has been leading the way in destigmatizing the shame that still exists around the biggest milestones in women’s lives and working to make pelvic floor therapy part of the standard of care,” said Carine Carmy, CEO & Co-Founder of Origin.

Hinge Health offers digital care through specialized physical therapists, providing personalized exercise plans targeting pelvic pain, bladder control issues, and menopause-related concerns.

The expansion addresses significant healthcare costs, with urinary incontinence alone associated with $20 billion in annual expenses according to NIH data. Progyny’s integrated approach aims to enable earlier interventions and help avoid delays that could lead to higher-cost treatments or surgeries.

The pelvic floor therapy addition continues Progyny’s expansion beyond fertility services into comprehensive women’s health care, serving employers and health plans with solutions spanning preconception through menopause.
