Philips and March of Dimes have announced a collaboration to integrate essential maternal health content into the Philips Avent Pregnancy+ app, aiming to improve health education and outcomes for expectant mothers.
The partnership will bring March of Dimes content to the world’s #1 pregnancy app, which has recorded more than 80 million lifetime downloads. The new content will focus on critical topics including preparing for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) stays, preterm birth prevention, and vaccination information.
“Our partnership with Philips reflects our shared commitment to ensuring families have access to trusted, timely information throughout pregnancy,” said Kelly Ernst, Senior Vice President and Chief Impact Officer at March of Dimes. “Whether it’s through our Mom and Baby Mobile Health Centers or expanding digital health literacy via the Pregnancy+ app, we’re meeting families where they are.”
The collaboration will particularly emphasize the benefits of low-dose aspirin as a preventive treatment for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, including preeclampsia, when clinically appropriate. This aligns with March of Dimes’ Low Dose, Big Benefits Campaign aimed at reducing pregnancy complications.
Beyond content integration, Philips and March of Dimes plan to leverage aggregated app data and surveys to identify key research areas and gather insights to better support mothers and babies. The partnership will utilize advanced data analysis to understand and meet the needs of families during pregnancy.
“As we continue to seek solutions to address maternal health challenges, initiatives like this can contribute to meaningful change,” said Brenda Kapner, Regional Business Unit Leader for Mother & Childcare at Philips North America. “By combining our expertise and resources with those of March of Dimes, we aim to deliver accessible education and insights, while utilizing advanced data analysis to better understand and meet the needs of mothers and babies.”
The Pregnancy+ app currently provides over 800 articles, lifelike 3D baby models, weekly pregnancy tracking, and audio/video courses led by health and wellbeing experts. Philips plans to create awareness campaigns highlighting the new March of Dimes content with broad reach across the United States through the app platform.
