Omaia, a Sweden-based wellness platform focused on the emotional and psychological experience of pregnancy, has closed an oversubscribed pre-seed round from angel investors. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The platform is designed to fill the space between clinical appointments – providing continuous, personalized support for the fear, anxiety, and uncertainty that accompany pregnancy rather than medical advice or surface-level tracking. One in five women experience mental health challenges during pregnancy or postpartum, yet the day-to-day emotional experience is largely invisible to the clinical care system.

Omaia was co-founded by CEO Nina Larsen, whose daughter died at birth, and Linnéa Belding, who experienced perinatal anxiety and depression firsthand.

“Omaia exists because of a failure in the system that I experienced firsthand – resulting in me losing my daughter during birth,” said Larsen. “What I went through wasn’t captured in clinical care, and it’s still not reflected in what gets built or funded. We are building Omaia to change that.”

The company positions itself as a responsive companion rather than a clinical tool – a distinction that reflects a broader shift toward behavior-driven, always-on digital wellness products in the maternal health space.
